Recapture the original with a Willie wrist band
Never one to miss out on a trend, Willie Nelson is now offering live recordings of his concerts in the form of USB wrist bands which can be plugged into the USB port of your PC or uploaded to your iPod or MP3 player.

The 256mb Wrist Bands are available from Willie's web site for 25USD.

Chesney produces Willie's new album
Kenny Chesney has co-produced country legend Willie Nelson's new album "Moment Of Forever." Chesney also co-wrote one of the album's songs with Nelson, and duets with him on "Worry B. Gone."

The album features songs written by Nelson and Kris Kristofferson and covers of songs by Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews and Randy Newman.

Willie honoured as icon at 2007 BMI Country Awards
Willie Nelson was honoured as a musical icon at the 2007 BMI * Country Awards in Nashville. The Icon designation is given to BMI songwriters and artists who have had “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.”

Since failing in his attempt to be Governor of Texas, former country singer turned novelist Kinky Friedman has been keeping busy and is even thinking of running again, next time as a Democrat.

Meanwhile he has a new book, out this this autumn,  "You Can Take a Politician to Water but You Can't Make Him Think" and is recording an album, "Kinky the Rodeo Clown" with long time friend Willie Nelson.

Willie gets off jail on drugs bust
Willie Nelson and his tour manager were spared jail time after pleading guilty to a misdemeanour count of marijuana possession. The State District Judge fined Nelson and Anderson $1,024 each and put both on probation for six months.

Willie launches up own record company
Willie Nelson announced at the 2007 South by Southwest Music Festival that he has formed Pedernales Records to nurture new talent.

Pedernales Records is named for the river that flows by Nelson's home outside Austin. The first act on Nelson's label will be the band 40 Points, featuring his sons, guitarist/singer Lukas Nelson and drummer Micah Nelson.


Beauty and the Beast?
Willie Nelson is to collaborate with pop diva Mariah Carey on an as-of-yet undisclosed song and film project.   “These things come up,” he said, laughing, “and I just say, ‘What a hell of a deal’.”

Chesney to produce Willie's next album
Kenny Chesney is to  produce a new album by Willie Nelson. Willie recently contacted Kenny about manning the boards for him, and soon the two were in the studio along with Kenny’s longtime co-producer, Buddy Cannon.

The album will feature songs  by Kris Kristofferson, Dave Matthews, Guy Clark, Jimmy Buffett, Randy Newman and Willie himself.

Willie Plays UK in January 2007
The Red-Headed Stranger will start off the year with a UK tour in January and then head back over the Pond for US dates that kick off Jan. 31 in Miami.

In 2007 Willie will reunite with Jessica Simpson in "Blonde Ambition," a loose remake of the 1988 film "Working Girl."
