Lots of fun things going on during the London Festival of Architecture in June and July, events, exhibitions, public space installations, walks, river rides even half price Pimms.
Look out for jelly models of well known public buildings (by Bompas and Parr - the jellymongers) and portable pavilions and viewing towers appearing around London in public places.
Beside the jelly buildings, attractions which caught our eye included the Portapavilions which will appear in London parks, the Seasons Through the Looking Glass exhibit by CJ Lim in the V& A entrance tunnel (which consists of trunks and twigs constructed from honeycomb paper sandwich panels and roses are made from rolled recycled garments), the Mobile Roaming Porch, and Dan Graham’s triangular pavilion with circular cuts outs (pictured).
For more details visit the LFA website and find details of over 600 activities and a personal diary you can compile to remind you of which ones you want to visit.
Some of the events need tickets but most are free. Find out more at the website www.lfa2008.com
