February's Poem of the Month is dedicated to the fine young Australian actor Heath Ledger, tragically found dead last month in New York, at the age of 28
Can death be sleep, when life is but a dream, And scenes of bliss pass as a phantom by?
The transient pleasures as a vision seem,
And yet we think the greatest pain's to die.
How strange it is that man on earth should roam,
And lead a life of woe, but not forsake
His rugged path; nor dare he view alone
His future doom which is but to awake.
by John Keats 1795-1821
The English Romantic poet John Keats died tragically young at the age of 24. In January 2008 the cinema lost one of its finest young actors with the death of Heath Ledger, the young Australian actor at 28. February's Poem of the Month is dedicated to Heath.
